Pontiac brand is history. Launched in 1926 at the New York Auto Show as a companion to GM’s Oakland division, Pontiac is/was the third best-selling automobile line of all time in the United States, behind Chevrolet and Ford.
Unfortunately for Pontiac fans, General Motors decided to phase out the brand in April as part of bailout orchestrated by the U.S. government. Last U.S. built Pontiac rolled off the assembly line yesterday in Orion Township around 12:45 pm.
It was a white G6 sedan and there was no media allowed to witness the end of this great brand.
The final Pontiac will roll off the assembly line in December. It is a G3 Wave that is built in Mexico and sold only In Canada.
