Spy shots: Lamborghini Murcielago replacement test-mule

Vehicle seen here is not Murcielago that gets a facelift, it is very likely test-mule for the Murcielago replacement. Lamborghini has not confirmed the Murcielago replacement nor its name, though it is speculated that it will be called Jota.

New car will retain Murcielago’s mid-engine layout with a new wider track(look at the extended fender flares).

For better performance Lamborghini will reduce weight, new model will get a lighter aluminum space frame instead of the current steel tub frame. Surely lot of carbon-fiber will be used to keep the weight down.

On each wheel you can see RoaDyn wheel force measuring systems, that measure the forces and torques appearing on the wheel at any speed. This will help engineers fine tune the AWD and suspension settings.

Current V12 engine will very likely remain the same with an addition of the new direct injection technology that should improve performance and fuel efficiency.

We have a feeling that this is going to be the fastest Lambo ever.
