Hyundai developing a new mini car

We have seen the Hyundai i20 prototype on test drives. Now Hyundai is reportedly working on a new minicar, that is smaller than the i10 and should compete against the mini cars like Toyota iQ.

New unnamed mini car will be competing in the 800 cc segment. Rumor is that the car will be production ready in three to four years.

>Hyundai’s mini car will be developed jointly by Hyundai engineers in Namyang (S. Korea) and Hyderabad (India) research centers. It will be built in India, where Hyundai produces the i20 and i20 models. It will go on sale both on a domestic market and Europe. No information will it also enter the US market.

Competition should be tough as Hyundai goes against Smart, Toyota, iQ, Fiat Topolini and also other car makers who are soon releasing small cars. Volkswagen develops a small car with Apple, Mazda will come out with Mazda 1.

We expect to see the prototype on test drives within one to two years. And surely are working hard on bringing you the first spy photos.
