Hyundai Blue-Will HND-4 plug-in hybrid concept preview

Hyundai HND-4 Concept Next week at the Seoul Motor Show Hyundai will debut its latest concept car called Blue-Will HND-4. The HND-4 is a plug-in hybrid car, power comes from the 1.6-liter four cylinder engine with 154 horsepower that is mated to an electric motor.

Electric engine gets its power from lithium polymer battery packs.

Without the combustion engine this electric motor offers a range of up to 40 miles (64 kilometers) just like the upcoming Chevy Volt.

Weight of the HND-4 has been kept as low as possible with the use of light-weight body panels made of carbon fiber.

On the roof embedded to the sunroof glass are solar cells, that generate enough electricity to power the ventilation system when the car is parked in a sunny day. We won’t be seeing HND-4 on the roads, but very likely can see similar technology on future Hyundai models.
