Its a well known fact that car manufacturers test new models on public roads. In Europe most of the tests are done at the famous Nürburgring and during winter in Sweden. In the States, Death Valley is known for hot weather tests and Colorado for high altitude testing.

Taking spy photos has come a full time job for many people, and thanks to them we get to see future models sometimes years before the manufacturers officially introduce them.

Unbelievable, but this time its the mighty Google, that has spotted Porsche engineers testing new models in Colorado Rockies.

It looks like the engineers had no idea that someone is watching them, usually when they see a camera, it takes them just few seconds to either drive away or hide the car under a wrap.

Google has extensively been capturing the globe and later people have noticed very strange and interesting things on these images. We have a feeling that this is not going to be the last time when a prototype gets spotted by Google Streetview.

Take a look at the embedded Google Maps below to see the facelifted Cayman, Boxster, 911 Turbo and 911 Targa. You can zoom, click, move forward, back… etc.

This is just amazing how the technology changes the way we get information and see things, now everyone can spot prototypes without even leaving their comfortable office chair.
