GM is lining up potential buyers for the Saturn brand

End of April General Motors announced that it will kill Pontiac brand and will focus on four brands.

By the end of this year GM plans have “the resolution” of Saab, Saturn, and Hummer. Rumor is that Hummer brand will be sold very likely to Arabs and Saab might go to Chinese.

Yesterday GM announced that it is proceeding to the next step with respect to the sale of Saturn. According to GM there is a number of potential buyers who have expressed interest in the Saturn brand and retailer network.

GM hopes to secure agreement with a specific buyer later this year. One of the potential buyers is Penske Automotive Group.

Penske would not be a bad choice as they are one of the biggest new car sellers in America. They are also well known for leasing, logistics and racing operations. We don’t know who are the other interested buyers, but we’ll keep you updated once we get more details. said sayd

So what’s the deal with Pontiac? GM said few days ago that Pontiac is not for sale! Why? Maybe GM hopes to bring the Pontiac brand back in the future?
