Performance version of the all-new Mazda3Mazda will be introducing two interesting versions of the all-new Mazda3 at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in March.

First one is the Mazda3 MPS (Mazdaspeed3 in the U.S.) for customers who look for more performance compared to the standard version and the second one is Mazda3 i-stop that adds a new eco-friendly option to the lineup.

Mazda3 MPS is powered by a MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo engine that makes at least 260 hp (no official details yet) and goes against the Opel Astra OPC and VW Golf R32. Power is sent to front wheels and as the car is lighter than its predecessor the performance numbers will be improved as well. Exterior changes compared to the base model include deeper bumpers, side sills, twin exhausts, hood scoop and large rear spoiler.

Mazda3 i-stop features the i-stop system in combination with the MZR 2.0 DISI (Direct Injection Spark Ignition) engine. Together, these two Mazda proprietary technologies help the new model achieve approximately 12 percent lower fuel consumption (urban cycle) than the current Mazda3 i stop.
