Ford is planning to introduce a whole range of new cars – 70 percent to 90 percent will be refreshed. Ford Motor Co.’s chief financial officer Lewis Booth, likening the cars to doughnuts said that (the vehicles) “are going to be the Krispy Kremes of the world.”
By 2014, the average Ford vehicle’s age will be shrunk by 20 percent, he said. Apparently the auto maker is going to reduce its structural costs by $14-15 billion and new vehicle costs will also come down. It will also make more cars. Though it is making 345,000 vehicles currently, it is targeting 680,000 within five years.
The cost cutting measures and production and sales targets being met will result in Ford getting a boost.
