Ford is developing its high level 5.0L V8 Coyote, ostensibly in secret, but pictures are already out and so is speculation. As a replacement for its 4.6L V8, this one will be more powerful with a 400 hp aluminum engine, with 400 lb/ft of torque.
This car will be competing with the Chevrolet Camaro and the Dodge Challenger. It should give similar or better fuel economy than its current model. This new engine is being test driven under the hood of a blue Mustang.
Though everything is more or less ready, Ford is still keeping it under wraps till next year because it does not want to eat into the sales of its 2010 Mustang and 2009 F150 models. It will probably go on sale by mid next year.

I really hope that they plan to introduce an SVT tuned version of this as well. There is so much momentum right now with Camaro on the performance side of things that they need to play catch up…
