Fisker KarmaFisker Karma is slated to roll of the assembly lines in Finland end of the year with sales starting soon after. So far Fisker Automotive has received 1,300 orders for this luxury plug-in hybrid.

On Sunday Fisker aired a first 60-second commercial during the Academy Awards gala on Los Angeles television station KTLA.

So far there is no information does Fisker plan more ads for the Karma or not.

One thing is sure that 1,300 orders is not enough and company is looking for more ways to introduce the Karma. Even though Fisker has not confirmed that there will be more commercials, we are sure that more commercial will air soon in L.A, Miami, New York… etc. How else are they planning the get the word out about their luxury Karma?

Company spokesman Russell Datz told Wired: “L.A. is an ideal market because of the people who live there, the money that’s there and because of the concerns the people there have for the environment.”

Refresher: Fisker Karma prices will start at $87,900 and first cars are scheduled to begin delivery in November. Fisker Karma has an all-electric range of 50 miles (80km). After the all electric 50 miles, the gasoline engine turns a generator to charge the lithium ion battery. Once the 50-mile electric range has been exceeded, the Fisker Karma can be used as a normal hybrid vehicle.

Nice design, but “Fisker Karma has an all-electric range of 50 miles, before the gasoline engines starts…
Come on this can’t be meant serious… Why would you produce an electric car with such a short range without gas?

  • Alex says:

    why not?

As most people drive less than 50 miles a day it is perfect. And if you really need to drive more then the engine will start.

Chevy Volt has the same system - up to 40 mile range if I am correct.
