Diesel or hybrid Jaguar XKWe have seen the 2009 Jaguar XK as a coupe and a convertible by now.

What we have here might be just another XK in testing, but for some reason it is hard to believe that Jaguar is still testing the facelifted XK. Why? First the bumper is different on this XK than on the ones we saw in June. It looks like they have extra intakes under the camouflage and no fog lights like on the facelifted model. Bonnet is XK-R style with air intakes. Exhausts are from a regular XK.

According to the photographer the car drove a couple of rounds and never went to the gas station like they usually do. The most surprising thing was the lack of sound. Facelifted XK in June was quit loud and one could hear it from a distance.

Rumor is that Jaguar plans on bringing the diesel into their XK lineup and also planning to bring new hybrid technology into their next XJ model. The hybrid technology needs to be tested on some of their current cars and there is a possibilty that it is tested in the XK. That would explain the quiet ride.

So the chances are high that this new designed front bumper has something to do with a turbo charged diesel engine or a hybrid system.
