Chrysler is in the worst financial situation of the Detroit 3. To cut more costs they will end the production of PT Cruiser and sell the equipment. Potential interested parties are Chinese Chery and Guangzhou. That would mean we will be seeing rebadged PT Cruisers driving around in China very soon.

According to Bloomberg, Chrysler LLC President Tom LaSorda said that the PT Cruiser will end production this summer.

Chrysler has already ended production of Dodge Durango, Dodge Magnum, Chrysler Crossfire, Chrysler Aspen and Chrysler Pacifica. Chrysler badge will be put on only the Sebring, 300C and Town & Country minivan.

Chrysler is currently trying to sell its Dodge Viper sports-car brand, and it will discontinue production of its Jeep Commander SUV.

Nissan-Renault alliance is interested in the Jeep brand and some sources claim that the deal will be finalized in the near future.
