This new 600 hp supercar is entirely developed by McLaren Automotive and when it arrives will go against the likes of Porsche 911 Turbo and Ferrari 458 Italia.
Mercedes-Benz is building the last batch of SLRs
In 2004, Mercedes-Benz and McLaren jointly set out to continue the story of the legendary SLR racing sports cars of the 1950s. Five exciting variants in the SLR family have been produced - two coupés, two roadster versions and finally one for the extreme purists, the SLR Stirling Moss.

The McLaren LM5 Concept is a design study(final year project) created by Matt Williams, a graduate student from Coventry University’s Transportation Design degree program.
The LM5 is what the next-generation McLaren F1 could look like if it was designed by Matt Williams. This extreme supercar concept features the same three-seat layout with a central drivers seat as the original F1 from the 90s.
Report: McLaren working on the MP4-12C Spyder
According to Autocar McLaren Automotive is already planning an open top version of the new MP4-12C. They are busy building a new factory and part of the layout is also an area called “RHT SUB Assembly”.
This is a clear indication that the topless version of the MP4-12C will get a retractable hard-top not a soft top like recently released Audi R8 V10 Spider.
