2011 Kia Optima unveiled ahead of New York debut

The next generation Kia Optima (also known as ‘Magentis’ in some markets) will make its world premiere next month at the 2010 New York International Auto Show.

“The next generation Optima possesses the power to surprise,” says Peter Schreyer, Kia’s Chief Design Officer. “It’s a car that people will simply not expect from Kia – and that’s exactly what we set out to achieve.”

Geneva 2010: Kia Venga EV concept car

Kia Venga EV concept car has the same size as the regular Venga B-segment MPV now on sale in Europe. Venga EV features an electric motor within the existing engine bay with 80 kW and maximum torque of 280 Nm.

Venga EV includes a twin-pack 24 kWh battery using Lithium Ion Polymer technology under the trunk floor, that provides a driving range of 180 km on a single charge.

Kia releases teasers for the next-generation Magentis

The next generation Kia Magentis(also known in North America as Optima) will make its world debut in early April at the New York International Auto Show.

This mid-size sedan is completely redesigned and features now a new bold, athletic and sporty visual energy. It is longer, lower and wider than the model it replaces. It also boasts a longer wheelbase offering considerably more interior room.

Kia Ray plug-in hybrid concept debuts in Chicago

Kia Motors yesterday unveiled its “Ray” plug-in Hybrid concept at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show, showcasing a futuristic four-seat compact saloon based on the Kia Forte platform.

Designed with lightweight and recycled materials, as well as hexagonal solar cells embedded in the glass roof panel to power extra lighting or climate control systems, the Kia “Ray” boasts a range of up to 746 miles.

Geneva Preview: 2011 Kia Sportage

In less than a month Kia will premier all-new Sportage at the Geneva Motor Show. It does look like a smaller version of the new Sorento, which is not a bad thing. It looks good and a huge step from the current generation model.

New Sportage is longer, lower and wider compared to the outgoing model. Design is bolder and sportier, marking a dramatic shift in design direction for the brand’s popular SUV.

2011 Kia Cadenza debuts in Korea, coming to the states as new Amanti

All-new Kia Cadenza(also known as K7 in Korea) will go on sale worldwide early next year. The Cadenza is based on the new front-wheel-drive platform and will come with a choice of three engines, each mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Power outputs range from 162 hp on the four-cylinder engine to a 286 hp on the V6.

Kia Cadenza sedan first details revealed

Kia has unveiled the first official pictures and details of the production version of its KND-5 concept car. This new luxury sedan by Kia is called “Cadenza” in markets outside of Korea. At the kome market it will be called K7.

The Cadenza name is derived from an Italian musical term used to describe an elaborate, ornamental flourish for a concerto or aria.

Kia’s two door Forte

Kia’s two door 2010 Forte Koupe which has hit the market is priced at $16,595, which is the base price. When you add $695 for delivery to your destination, it ups the price significantly. The more you add to the car in terms of any extras, the more the price increases.

The SX model will a manual transmission will cost $17,695; five-speed auto (plus destination) and a 173-hp 2.4 liter four cylinder underhood will be priced at $18,695; if you want a leather interior it will cost $1,000 more and a sunroof addition will be $600. With the works, the car will cost $21,505.

Korea’s Kia VG renderings

The Korean automaker has shown renderings of its concept car, KND-5 as a next generation luxury model. It has a front wheel drive platform like the Hyundai Azera and will probably hit the Korean market sometime later this year. There will be a choice of engines ranging from the 2.4-liter direct-injected four and 3.8-liter Lambda V6.

The 2010 Kia Rio gets a facelift

New spy photos reveal Kia cee’d Plus MPV interior and front

This time the production version of the Kia No 3 concept called Kia cee’d Plus MPV was spotted on a trailer in Germany. Rear of the car is still heavily disguised, but we can see more of the front and also we can show you the interior of this new small MPV.

Kia will target this small C-segment MPV against the Volkswagen Golf Plus and Ford Focus C-Max.

2010 Kia Forte Koup debuts at the New York Auto Show

Kia introduced Forte sedan at the Chicago Auto Show in February. Now in New York Kia has unveiled two-door version of the sedan called Forte Koup.

Compared to the sedan it has a sportier and more aggressive design.

Kia VG concept debuts at the Seoul Auto Show

Today at the Seoul Auto Show Kia unveiled the VG concept to the public. Codenamed KND-5 it is not just a concept but a preview for the actual production model that debuts already this fall in South Korea.

VG Concept is designed under the guidance of Peter Schreyer, whose previous employer was Audi for over 25 years.

First Kia VG concept image released

We brought you last spy photos of the luxury Kia VG beginning of this month from the Arctic Circle. Kia VG prototype was going through some heavy testing in very extreme conditions.

Now finally the first VG(KND-5) concept image has been released as the car is making its public debut end of this week at the 2009 Seoul Motor Show.
