General Motors sells Hummer to China’s Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery
GM has been killing different brands and also trying to sell some. Hummer brand was a success for a while when the H2 was introduced. Once the gas prices started rising it came a huge burden to GM.
Now finally GM has reached an agreement with China’s Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery to sell the Hummer brand for a rumored $150 million.
Hummer sale faces opposition in China
Roadblocks continue to dog GM – the latest news is that the Chinese government may well oppose the Hummer sale valued at $100 million. Chinese state radio, in a broadcast, said that the sale may be blocked for environmental reasons as the Hummer is a gas guzzling car.
Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery, the purported buyer, however disputed the reports saying, “The fact that it is from an article from a state media organisation does not mean it is government policy.”

Artist Matthew Harrison unveiled yesterday his latest project entitled ‘Hummer’ at the fifth Zoo Art Fair (17-20 October) - a HUMMER H3 complete with 32-inch wooden wagon wheels, the iconic installation will be parked on Old Burlington Road, opposite the Royal Academy of Arts for the duration of the fair.
Harrison has combined the HUMMER H3 with ‘Wild West’ wooden wheels to create a sculpture that is a mixture of art, engineering and motoring.

Gulf Arab investors might buy Hummer from GM
GM is having problems with Hummer sales around the world. With high gas prices the gas guzzling SUV is not a success anymore.
Last week Indian automobile company Mahindra & Mahindra announced that thet are not interested buying Hummer.

HUMMER Announces Pricing for All-New H3T
HUMMER announced pricing for its highly functional and capable H3T midsize pickup truck arriving in dealerships this fall in the U.S. and Canada. Pricing will start at $31,495, including a $745 destination charge.
The all-new H3T is based on the architecture of the popular H3, and features a five-passenger crew cab and a separate five-foot-long (1.5 meters) bed. The H3T is infused with the attributes expected of a HUMMER, including exceptional off-road capability and a premium interior that is as functional as it is comfortable.
2009 E85 Capable H2 SUT Revealed
General Motors, with over 3 million cars, leads the pack in regards to flex-fuel vehicles on American roads. Classic Chevrolet/HUMMER is the nation’s leading Chevy truck dealer and has taken it upon themselves to supply their customers with a new, and first dealer-owned E85 fuel station.
“We sell a lot of trucks capable of running on alternative fuels like E85, and even though there has been some increased availability, we saw a need for more E85 pumps where drivers could fill up,” said Clasic general manager Charles Martin. Currently, less than 1% of fuel stations across the US offer E85.

GM will kill the Hummer H2 production
There has been a rumor for a while that GM will kill the H2 production in 2011. Now according to some sources the kill date is 2014.
Initially, GM was planning a next generation Hummer H2 model built on the GMT-900 chassis for sometime in 2010. Internally, it was referred to as “GMT915.”
It was the next-gen chassis for the vehicle that GM has now decided to do away with.
