2011 Ford Mustang GT packs 412 hp and impressive 26 mpg highway
Ford introduced the new more powerful Mustang GT end of last year. Now Ford has also released fuel economy numbers for this new pony car.
Numbers are impressive! New 412-hp 5.0-liter V-8 engine has an EPA rating of 26 mpg highway when equipped with the six-speed manual transmission, giving it the best fuel economy in its class. In city Mustang GT is rated at 17 mpg.

2011 Ford Mustang V6 with 305 hp gets 31 mpg on the highway
Ford has released fuel economy details for the new 2011 Mustang V6, and the numbers are impressive. Final fuel economy certified by EPA is at 31 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg in the city.
On sale this spring, Mustang with new 3.7-liter V-6 achieves 305 hp with available six-speed automatic transmission, is the first production car ever to achieve 300-plus horsepower and 30-plus mpg. Congratulations Ford!
Geneva 2010: New Ford Focus Wagon
Today, the next-generation Ford Focus 5-door model makes its European debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. This new model will be eventually sold in more than 120 markets globally.
European and North American production starts in late 2010 and sales in early 2011. Asia, Africa and South America production will follow soon after.
Hennessey VelociRaptor 500, a 500+ hp beast (Video)
Hennessey Performance has unveiled an upgrade package for the new Ford F150 Raptor called VelociRaptor 500. As always their packages are all about more horsepower, and so is the case this time. 5.4-liter Ford V8 gets a Whipple supercharger that boosts engine output to 501 horsepower at 5,100 rpm and 520 lb-ft of torque at 3,200 rpm.
0-60 is down from 8.4 to 5.6 seconds and the quarter mile comes in 14.1 seconds at 97 mph. Hennessey says they will create 100 VelociRaptors each year, with the full kit costing $10,950.
2011 Ford Shelby GT500 unveiled, gets a lightweight aluminum engine
Ford has unveiled the 2011 Shelby GT500 ahead of its public debut at the Chicago Auto Show. Visually almost identical to the 2010 year model, it is what’s under the hood that really matters.
All-new 5.4-liter all-aluminum engine is 102 pounds lighter than the previous cast-iron engine and uses Ford-patented plasma-coating technology to produce 550 horsepower and 510 ft.-lb. of torque. That’s 10 hp more than the previous engine.

2011 Ford Mustang GT Daytona 500 Pace Car
Here’s another version of the America’s favorite muscle car called Mustang GT Daytona 500 Pace Car, that will perform pacing duties already in February when the season opens.
“Having the opportunity to pace America’s biggest auto race with a Ford icon like the 2011 Mustang GT is truly an honor,” said Jamie Allison, director, Ford North America Motorsports. “And to have the new 5.0-liter engine powering the car will be a great way to demonstrate its power and class-leading fuel economy.”
Shelby unveils 2011 GT350 with around 500 hp
Shelby American brings back the legendary Shelby GT350 to its lineup of American performance cars. The supercharged concept version of the Mustang-based 2011 Shelby GT350 twas unveiled at the Barrett-Jackson Auction Opening Night Gala to honor the 45th anniversary of the first GT350 and first Shelby big block Cobra.
Shelby worked with Ford Racing to supercharge the engine with a goal of 500 horsepower, as well as to sharpen the handling.
Ford sweeps North American car and truck of the year awards
At this year’s Detroit Auto Show, Ford won the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards for the
2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid and the 2010 Ford Transit Connect.
It is the third time in 17 years that one manufacturer has won both awards. “Winning both of these prestigious awards is confirmation that the ONE Ford plan is working, delivering industry-leading products for our customers,” said Mark Fields, president of The Americas.
Ford launches nine new engines and six new transmissions in North America this year
This year Ford will introduce nine new or upgraded engines and six new transmissions in North America as part of a five-year effort to overhaul its entire global powertrain portfolio, which totals 60 new powertrains.
One of the advanced and fuel-efficient North American powertrains is the 2012 Ford Focus’ all-new normally aspirated 2.0-liter direct fuel injection engine, the first of its kind in a Ford vehicle in North America.
Detroit 2010: next generation Ford Focus unveiled
Today at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Ford will unveil the next generation Ford Focus.
Both the four-door sedan and five-door hatchback body styles of the next-generation Focus are previewed prior to their production start for Europe and North America late in 2010 and market launch early in 2011.

Under the hood is an all-new 5.0-liter V8, using advanced technology to deliver 412 horsepower and projected unsurpassed highway mileage of 25 mpg.
Ford Focus RS by Mcchip with 401 horsepower
German tuner Mcchip is the latest tuner to offer power upgrades for the Ford Focus RS.
Two upgrade packages are available. Power stage 1 transforms serial 305 hp and 440 Nm into 345 hp with no less than 520 Nm. Top speed is 271 km/h. Cost for this package is 799 euros.
Stage 2 package is not such a bargain and costs 4,499 euros while transforming the Focus RS into a real beast.
