What if Dodge Viper had been designed in the 1960s?

1967 Dodge Viper ConceptBrazilian car and product designer Rafael Reston has created interesting renderings of a Dodge Viper if it had been designed in the 1960s.

Chrysler at the Detroit Auto Show (live from Detroit)

Chrysler has two concept models in Detroit that we would love to see in production. One of them is the 200C EV and the second one is the Dodge Circuit EV. First one is a range-extended plug-in hybrid that will drive up to 40 miles on pure electric power.

Second one is the cool all-electric sports car based on Lotus Europa with a driving range of 150-200 miles. 0-60 mph takes less than 5 seconds and the top speed is over 120 mph ( 196 km/h).

Truck of the year is Ford F-150 or Dodge Ram?

Today Ford sent out a press release where it stated that 2009 F-150 is named North American Truck of the Year at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).

Even though it is the weekend, Chrysler’s PR was not at home sleeping as they had sent out a press release earlier where they were happy about the 2009 Dodge Ram, that earned the 2009 International Truck of the Year, awarded by International Car of the Year (ICOTY) jurors. The Dodge Ram beat the new 2009 Ford F-150 and Subaru Forester for top honors.

Dodge surprises with a Circuit EV

Chrysler introduced Lotus Europa based Dodge EV back in September. Last time Chrysler called it Dodge EV. Now this all-electric sports car has a new name: Circuit EV. In addition to the new name, it also has a new look.

We like the new crosshair grille and deep scallop on sides. New wheels and the orange paint job make this electric car one of the best looking electric sports car concepts we have seen in a while.

Chrysler bringing 4-Seat Dodge EV to Detroit

Rumor has it that Chrysler could be bringing a new Dodge EV to the Detroit Auto Show. While details are still sketchy, we’ve been told that it will be a new four seat model based off of a Lotus platform.

It’s likely that the new Dodge EV will be based on the Lotus Evora and will feature more than just a badge swap this time around, though we’re not sure how much of a re-style it’ll receive.

Video: Dodge EV concept vs. Dodge Challenger

Electric cars are quite fast. Last week we reported that Tesla Roadster runs a quarter mile in 12.76 seconds.

Chrysler brought the company’s three phase-one EV prototypes to the Rose Bowl on Friday for a little PR. All three will be unveiled at the LA Auto Show end’ of the week. We wrote about all three here, back in September. Most interesting of all three is the Dodge EV, that is basically a fully electric version of the Lotus Europa.

Force Performance builds a two-door TriCharger

When Dodge introduced the new Charger concept in 1999 lot of people were disappointed that the modern day Charger had 2 additional doors. Classic Charger form the late 60s and early 70s is still known as a true American muscle car. So a four-door Charger was not what most Dodge fans really wanted.

Today the four-door Charger sells quit well, but still there are people who think the Charger name should not be on a four-door car.
