Bugatti 16 C Galibier Concept gets production go-ahead

Bugatti Veyron is considered as the fastest and most powerful production car in the world. Early in September Bugatti showed selected customers and opinion-makers a new concept called 16 C Galibier, which is intended to be the most exclusive, elegant, and powerful four door automobile in the world.

Now reports are circulating that Bugatti has approved this four door supercar for production.

Bugatti 16 C Galibier Concept is constructed of handmade carbon fiber parts finished in dark blue. Similarly to the Veyron engineers have used polished aluminum on wings and doors.

Power comes from the same 8.0-liter W16 quad turbo engine that produces 1001 hp in the Veyron. For the 16 C Galibier engineers have detuned it to around 800 hp and it is placed in the front and not rear as in the Veyron.

Top speed is expected to be around 220 mph (350 km/h) and 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) should come in 3.5 seconds making it the fastest four door car in the world.

This new luxury saloon should go in sale in early 2013 with an estimated price of about 985,000 Euros ($1.4 million).
