Next generation 3-Series is expected to make its debut earliest this fall, before that BMW has released the final facelift of the current generation Coupe and Convertible.
The 2011 3 Series Coupe and Convertible models will go on sale in Spring 2010, and pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date.
So what’s new? In addition to the rear-wheel drive, the xDrive is now available on the Coupe. There is an all-new engine for the 335i model. Internally designated the “N55,” this turbocharged, all-aluminum engine features essentially the same “short block” and 3.0-liter displacement of its predecessor packing now 300 hp and 300 lb.ft of torque while more fuel efficient, and cleaner-running than its outstanding predecessor.
The 6-speed manual gearbox remains standard, and the 6-speed Steptronic automatic is optional, now featuring shift paddles.
Visual highlights are newly designed headlights, taillights(both with LED light sources) and reflectors. New mirrors were specifically created for the Coupe and Convertible.
There are also new colors called: Deep Sea Blue Metallic, Vermillion Red Metallic, and Mineral White Metallic available for the new 3 Series Coupe and Convertible.
