Aston Martin’s Rapide four door sedan

Aston Martin has released official pictures of its new Rapide four door saloon. Slated to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, it had been unveiled as a concept car at the Detroit Auto Show in 2006. The actual car is somewhat different from the concept car.

The saloon does not have the small side air intakes on the front bumper have and there’s a new shuntline that runs down the length of the body. It has new ‘swan’ doors which open upwards and outwards and the rear has LED tail lights, dual exhaust pipes and a spoiler feature.

Inside the car are headrest mounted LCD monitors, and it also has a large panoramic glass room. The engine is 6.0-litre V12 delivering 470bhp and 442lb-ft of torque which will go from 0-60 mph in 5 seconds and give a top speed of 180 mph. At a price tag of £110,000 the car is certainly not cheap but then it is an Aston Martin!
