Acura’s BMW X6 fighter named ZDX, official debut in New York

We have seen highly disguised prototypes of the Acura’s X6 fighter. Few weeks ago Acura released first teasers of the unnamed CUV.

Now finally Acura has released the official name for its BMW X6 fighter - the ZDX. According to Acura, the ZDX Concept is a luxury four-door sport coupe that will debut next month at the New York Auto Show.

“The ZDX prototype is unlike anything you have ever seen before from Acura,” said Jeff Conrad, vice president, Acura sales. “The prototype showcases a new level of luxury, style and refinement for Acura and speaks volumes towards our commitment to advancing the brand.”

The Acura ZDX Concept uses MDX underpinnings and features All-Wheel Drive system named Super Handling. Acura has not confirmed the engines, but rumor is that power will come from the 3.6-liter V6 that develops around 300 horsepower.

We will see soon how the model looks as teaser images did not reveal much. One thing is sure that it will compete with less powerful X6 versions, but to take on the upcoming 550 horsepower X6 M, Acura has no chance.

Production model will arrive at Acura dealerships already this fall and will feature Acura’s latest performance and safety technologies.
