SL 65 Black SeriesLast year around the same time we reported that blind Belgian man Luc Costermans hit a top speed of 309 km/h (192 mph) in a borrowed Lamborghini Gallardo on the Istres Air Force Base.

Now there is a new top speed record holder for the blind. This time it is a South African man Hein Wagner who hit a top speed of 322.5 km/h (200 mph) this Tuesday in a 661 horsepower Mercedes-Benz SL 65 Black Series.

This supercar was from a local businessman Lolly Jackson and the record breaking event took place at the Upington Airport.

Mr. Wagner was guided by a Ray Wakefield from Speedrecord SA. The record will be in the Guinness World Record book, as he successfully maintained the speed of 322.5km/h for a distance of 1000 meters.

We are sure there will be more records coming soon. Don’t be surprised if the next record comes with the 1001 horsepower Bugatti Veyron.
