Spy shots of the news 2012 Audi A3 mule are now available for your viewing. This new car is camouflaged in a Volkswagen body, but it looks like that it will have a somewhat extended body.
It could have an engine of either 105hp (75kW) 1.2-liter TSI, or the 141hp (104kW) 1.4-liter TSI, or the 173hp (127kW) 1.8-liter TSI. It may also be available in a diesel variant with a 207hp (152kW) 2.0-liter TDI possibly being the top choice.
Audi may be considering the RS3 model with a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine from the TT-RS. Packing 340hp and 450Nm of torque, the RS3 would probably rocket from 0-62 mph in 4.6 seconds before hitting an estimated top speed of 179 mph (288 km/h).
Another possibility is that Audi may consider manufacturing an A3 sedan to appeal to US customers who are not happy with hatchbacks.
