2010MY Nissan GT-R laps the famous Nürburgring in 7:27.56

Last year Nissan GT-R set a lap record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a very impressive 7 minutes and 29 seconds.

This all started many speculations about the tires and non-stock parts. A lot of it came from Porsche who has been dominating the Ring until GT-R came out.

Now Nissan is back on the Nürburgring with the 2010MY GT-R that has 485 horsepower, modified launch control and gearbox, retuned suspension and better tires.

Driven by Nissan’s Chief test driver Toshio Suzuki they managed yesterday to lap the Nürburgring in 7 minutes and 27.56 seconds, which is 1.5 seconds faster than what they managed with the 2009MY GT-R.

According to Nissan the track was dry, but was impaired by dust and sand. Depending on conditions they will attempt another record tomorrow. Their goal is to beat Corvette ZR1 time of 7:26:4. Stay tuned!
