2010 Toyota Mark X debuts at the Tokyo Motor Show

Second generation Toyota Mark X for the Japanese market has debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show. This mid-size sedan is based on the same rear-wheel-drive platform as Lexus GS.
In fact you can’t buy a rear-wheel drive Toyota sedan outside of Japan. You can only go with the higher prices LExus brand.
Toyota offers the redesigned Mark X with two engines. 2.5-liter V6 producing 203 horsepower and a new 3.5-liter V6 producing 315 hp. Both models come equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission and paddle shifters.
Some of the new safety features installed are HDD navigation system with Map on Demand, Radar Cruise Control and Hill-start Assist Control. Prices start at ¥2.38 million (€17,594/ US$26,000) for the 250G F Package version. Toyota plans to see 3000 units a month in Japan.
