Kizashi’s path to production hasn’t been an easy one. Back in January there were reports that Suzuki will put it on hold. Those of you who are looking for more choices in the mid-class sedan section should not worry as the production model was unveiled to the public back in August and sales in Japan started last week.
Sales in the U.S and Europe should start in the very near future. Suzuki says that Kizashi combines sporty handling with great ride comfort thanks to extensive testing and fine-tuning on roads in Europe and North America.
“Kizashi” is a Japanese word meaning “a sign of great things to come”. With the 2.4-liter engine it produces 188 hp and 230 Nm of torque. This new sedan is also available with an intelligent all-wheel drive (i-AWD) system that realizes smooth off-the-line acceleration and great cornering performance.
In the U.S. it will go against the Toyota Camry and Chevrolet Malibu.
