New Porsche 997 Turbo was introduced last month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Main changes are under the skin and visually most people can’t tell the difference between a new model and its predecessor.
But under the skin changes are worth mentioning again and again. Power comes from a new 3.8-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine that produces 500 horsepower (20 hp more than the previous model) and 480 lb-ft of torque.
It also comes for the first time with the six-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Weight is also trimmed by 25 kg. 0-100 km/h comes in 3.4 seconds now.
According to AutoCar, 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo has lapped the Nürburgring race track in 7 minutes and 39 seconds. That’s 10 seconds faster than the previous 911 Turbo. Not bad at all.
New 911 Turbo goes on sale next month with German prices starting from 145,871 euros.
