Looks like Kia has now begun testing the next-generation SUV in the United States, and these are the pictures showing the new SUV with the least disguise yet. This new design language reminds us Acura little bit.
As is obvious in these pictures, the Sorento will be growing but won’t accommodate three rows of seating as was was specualted earlier. This part will be left to the yet bigger Kia Borrego. In addition to the larger size, the Sorento will also move upscale – including higher prices and bigger engines.
This new SUV will be first offered with a 2.4-liter gasoline or 2.0 and 2.2 liter diesel engines. No information will the diesel be offered in the states as well. 3.8-liter V6 that produces 260 hp will also be available soon after the launch. New Sorento features unibody architecture instead if a separate body-on-frame chassis that’s been used in the previous Sorento vehicles.
