2009 Porsche Cayenne Diesel production begins

Porsche has started production of the new Cayenne Diesel at its Leipzig plant.
Cayenne diesel is is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine with 240 HP (176 kW) supplied by Audi AG. Cayenne Diesel consumes an average of only 9.3 liters per 100 kilometers ( 25.3 mpg), its CO2 emissions are 244 grams per kilometer. All models are equipped with Tiptronic S automatic transmission.
The Cayenne Diesel will be available for sale in Europe from February 2009. Prices will start at about € 47,250 ($67,300 USD) plus local taxes.
As Volkswagen will be offering Toaureg diesel and Audi Q7 diesel in the States, then there is a very high chance that Cayenne Diesel will be offered in the States.
