Images of the 2010 Honda Insight Hybrid leaked onto the web today and we can now show you for the first time what the little production hybrid looks like. While not a far cry from the Insight Concept shown at the Paris Motor Show, there are quite a few noticeable changes.

The front end design has lost the show car LED lighting in favor of conventional halogen/hid units and the lower fascia has grown a pair of oddly placed fog lamps. Fortunately the happy grin of the concept remains as it should – This little guy is going to sell by the boat load.

The profile view remains similar in design, but loses the tiny mirrors and over-sized wheels of the showc car. The biggest difference happens in the rear, where the taught look of the show car has been set aside for a more productionized look with proper bumpers and a larger rear glass opening.

While we’ve yet to see a full view of the production interior we expect it to remain similar to the show car, though it’ll lose some of the wiz-bang gadgetry and upgraded materials.

Honda is set to officially reveal the production 2010 Honda Insight Hybrid at the Detroit Auto Show on January 11th. A specific on-sale date has yet to be revealed, but it’s expected that the 2010 Insight will reach dealerships sometime in the spring of 2009. Honda is expecting to sell 200,000 Insights per year with half of those sales coming from North America.
